JUST IN: President Donald Trump is considering invoking a 213-year-old federal law that would allow him to deploy active-duty U.S. troops to respond to protests in cities across the country, according to people familiar with internal discussions.
If this happens we need to call for an immediate work stoppage.
@ATULocal689 @DemSocialists If @ATULocal689 is sincere, it can begin publicly pressuring @AFLCIO to kick out police unions and disaffiliate from the International Union of Police Associations.
Labor must refuse to be complicit in any form of oppression, especially racial oppression.
Replying to @jlewis237: This
Bill de Blasio, in one news item: He is saying he would veto a city council proposal to ban chokeholds by NYPD officers.
It'd be the first veto of his mayorship.
Replying to @pblest: Has anyone ever been less useful to the causes they claim to believe in?

@AmyEGardner @jdawsey1 @ShawnBoburg The group quietly rebranded a few months ago from its previous name -- The Judicial Education Project. The organization has previously been almost entirely funded by Donors Trust, known as a funnel for dark money from influential conservatives
Looting rules cuz: it’s cheaper, more woke for megacorps to turn a blind eye to teen smash & grab than their own labor practices; can pass costs down to consumers while re-exploiting workers; creates automatic user-generated viral ads for brands; wipes out small biz competition
I suspect none of this is true except the first one, that it's easier for corporations to survive looting than an organized working class. The rest of these, presented here as arguments for why capitalists actually enjoy and profit from the theft of commodities, make no sense
The ability to use our voice and take action — collectively and individually — is a responsibility and a privilege. We must not stay silent. We remain in solidarity today and everyday to fight racism and injustice. Black lives matter.

General Catalyst is a VC company from Silicon Valley.
They invested in a company called Anduril, who sell a 'smart wall' to border patrol. Investing in Anduril directly supports a white supremacist agenda.
Until they divest from Anduril, these words are completely meaningless.
A black man, David McAtee was murdered by LMPD & National Guard officers. He was shot and killed just after midnight. David owned a barbecue shop. He was known to feed police officers for FREE. HIS BODY IS STILL IN THE STREET!!! I am SO fucking outraged. RETWEET - know his name!
WARNING: If you plan to protest in a city or town within 100 miles of the border, be aware CBP is now policing protesters and *IS EXEMPT* from a some constitutional protections you may be used to.
Know your rights. Share with comrades. #BlackLivesMatter
