Appalled to learn that apparently my Patronus is a pheasant. Other half says this is “entirely the essence of you”. A grim day of self-discovery.

“A Home Office source said: Sir Philip and [Priti Patel] have a fundamental disagreement about the rule of law. He’s committed and she isn’t.” Extraordinary story.

It’s hardly surprising that the Home Secretary doesn’t understand the rule of law. Most of her predecessors didn’t either.

Lawyers, what is something about practicing that law school students might have a hard time believing?

The one that gets me is how often opposing counsel will cite a case for a proposition, and then you look and see the case doesn't say that at all, or even says the *opposite.*

That most days you can’t actually practise law as the government has sold off half the courts and won’t pay to keep the remaining ones open.

Drea makes a great point here. (Not just about my tweets 😚). But about the regrettable fact that *most* people applying for a pupillage don’t actually get it.

Drea is after positive stories of what you did instead 👇🏼

Working on a story about youth court delays. I have in the back of my mind that back in the day there were time limits on when youths needed to be summonsed to court by police. Can't find anything in Bench Book.

Any pointers? @Crimsolicitor_ @BarristerSecret @SimonWolfensohn
