This week’s recording of the week features American poet Adrienne Rich reading her poem ‘Power’ at the 1st International Feminist Book Fair in 1984.
The poem examines women's power and the quality of endurance, referencing the life of Marie Curie:

To celebrate the acquisition, items from the archive will be on display in the British Library's free, permanent Treasures Gallery from the end of February until August 2020. The archive will be accessible to researchers on completion of cataloguing in late 2021.
