This summer I took @kvanaren to lunch (King) to try to convince her to review standup specials for the site. I'm very happy with how it all turned out. Comedy is very fortunate to have her voice and perspective.

1) it was a very good lunch

2) I think (I hope!) I've learned a lot in the last several months

3) seriously watch Lil Rel's special, holy shit

4) clearly my aim is to eventually have as many jobs as a sean gunn character on an amy sherman-palladino joint

me making a list of the best tv of the year: yep this is the best

We are all watching and talking so much more about Marriage Story (see also: Bird Box) than would ever happen for the same theatrical release. I understand that’s the idea, but I can ASSURE you I would never go to the movies to watch Marriage Story.

I think this point can be true for movies and also inverse for TV shows. No way we'd all still be talking about Watchmen each week if the whole season had dropped at once.

one problem with christmas shopping for your children is stumbling across toys you identify with way too strongly and then become fixated on and apropos of nothing and definitely not THAT thought here's a stuffed chameleon

Tonight’s penultimate episode of #Watchmen is going to knock your socks off with its sublime exploration of love & time & fate. @EWDocJensen is the genius co-writer behind it, our true secret weapon, if you haven’t checked out his Peteypedia you are missing out on some GEMS 🦑
