“When speaking with Julian Assange, I told him that if he could provide me information and evidence about who actually gave him the DNC emails, I would then call on President Trump to pardon him.”
Who *actually* gave Assange the e-mails were Russian intelligence operatives.
Dana Rohrbacher response to Assange lawyer's allegation:
"At no time did I talk 2 President Trump about Julian Assange. Likewise, I was not directed by Trump or anyone else connected with him to meet with Julian Assange. I was on my own fact finding mission at personal expense."
Rohrabacher does not deny that he told Assange that he would obtain a pardon if he denied Russian involvement in the hacking of Hillary Clinton’s emails.
What should we make of Trump's pardons? After Barr's intervention in the Stone sentencing, has he diminished public faith in the DOJ?
Congressman @RepMikeQuigley and MSNBC Legal Analyst @BarbMcQuade answered these questions in today's new episode of my #OnTopic podcast!

Rod Blagojevich says he's a 'freed political prisoner' after Trump commutes sentence via @nbcnews
Blagojevich tries to suggest that he was a "political prisoner," but his prosecution and sentence was not "political."
Trump and Blagojevich see prosecutions of corrupt politicians as "political," but they're the ones trying to politicize corruption prosecutions.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was promised a pardon "on the condition that Assange complied with the U.S. by saying that the Russians were not involved in the email leak which hurt Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016."
Assange alleges that Trump promised to pardon him if he said that the Russians weren't involved in hacking Hillary Clinton's emails.
The intelligence community *and* the Mueller investigation established that Russian intelligence operatives were behind the hack.
Rod Blagojevich did not sell the Senate seat. He served 8 years in prison, with many remaining. He paid a big price. Another Comey and gang deal! Thank you to @LisaMarieBoothe who really “gets” what’s going on! @FoxNews
Comey was not at the DOJ when Blagojevich was prosecuted, and the federal prosecutors who worked on his case were not a "gang." They did their job well.
“The president is against aggressive sentencing,” whether it’s Alice Johnson or Rod Blagojevich, spokesman Hogan Gidley says on Fox News.
There are over 170,000 federal inmates. Trump has pardoned less than 30 people so far. Why pick Blagojevich, Scooter Libby, Joe Arpaio?
Trump is pardoning his associates and other people on his radar screen, not the broad mass of inmates who have received long sentences.
BREAKING: An appeals court just ruled that Florida can’t require the payment of fines and fees to vote
This decision invalidates a Florida law that prevented former felons from voting unless they paid back all fines and fees.
The practical effect of that law was to make the restoration of voting rights dependent on financial status.
Have questions about Barr's intervention in the Stone case or about how Congress can hold Barr and Trump accountable?
Post them below and we'll ask MSNBC Legal Analyst @BarbMcQuade and Congressman @RepMikeQuigley tonight when we record the new episode of my #OnTopic podcast!
It looks like we're going to have a lot more to discuss tonight.
