What would a #NoDAPL look like under a President Biden? Certainly not better than under Obama. Better than under Trump? Yes ok sure. But the outcome in all three scenarios is REAL FUCKING SHITTY for tribes.
This exactly. Even if Biden wins the general, it's a bad outcome for Native communities. There is no incremental change. There is lose 70% of your treaty land vs 100% of your treaty land, and non-Natives need to shut the fuck up with the "That's still better."
1/3 Thank you @BernieSanders for all you’ve done to bring ideals like Medicare for All, $15 minimum wage, tuition-free public college, and a Green New Deal into the political mainstream.
Fellow folks of the Shire, please follow Andru here as he is running for Governor of NH and was a long time Bernie supporter. Thank you
People need to understand that we’re not just devestated that Bernie is himself out of the race.
Bernie’s policies would have saved lives.
We’re devastated about all the people who will die without healthcare. About the people who will die from the effects of climate change.
I really wish that all the smug anti-Bernie folks could understand just for a moment that this is what we're upset about, but clearly these lives that would be saved, and the climate, are just not good enough reasons.
I know I am screaming into the void today. I know nothing is going to be learned from the people who took this from us. If it didn't before, it won't now. I wish I knew how to make people understand, but clearly even with all I've worked to be informative, it still hasn't worked.
"but canada's not like that"
where do you think all those railway/pipeline protests y'all white progressives were fawning over just a few wks ago were taking place? all the arrests & brutalization of indigenous & first nations ppls? what do you think the rcmp like. does?
Dems need to explain why young people should vote for the guy who said he had no empathy for their struggles, like earning less than their parents did at their age, being stuck in debt for wanting an education, not having enough wealth to buy a home therefore relying on landlords
