And again, not all of them are the same, but the experience is one of utter disregard and it's by design. This also isn't an argument against having a national healthcare system for all. IHS doesn't work bc of intentional sabotage & systemic issues that are racist in origin.
In my experience, some of the doctors don't seem to care. I don't pretend to know what their motivations are for being there, but at times they seemed like the type of doctor that was there on assignment for a couple years like it's a rescue in a third world country.
Having lived in Boston in the past where hospitals are on the upper end in quality, the difference is night and day with an IHS hospital in even a more urban area. One of my most frustrating experiences was being at one and the blood pressure monitor not working. Just basics.
